The New 2020 Hyundai Palisade: Buyers Guide

I was surprised after clicking on a link while surfing the web that Hyundai was offering a $50.00 Gift Card just for test driving a vehicle and thought to myself
“I sure could use 50 bucks right now!, why not?” And so I followed the instructions, printed the coupon and proceeded to my local Hyundai dealership to test-drive the new 2020 Hyundai Palisade.

I have owned a Hyundai in the past, a 2001 XG300 that I referred as my “Baby Jag”. The car had a stylish appeal, rode nice and for the most part was a dependable mode of transportation. Unfortunately it did develop some kind of mechanical issue where it would “Buck” at random when going through the gear-switching process and I made the decision to get rid of it.

This experience caused me to shy away from the brand, but through the years Hyundai has remarkably become one of the top selling brand of automobiles and has also built a loyal customer base by offering a great warranty that surpassed other automakers solidifying its place in the market. Hyundai has not only stepped up their game in the customer satisfaction area, but has also become a leader in designing superb looking vehicles that rival competitors like Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, Lexus, and Audi to name a few. They have managed to accomplish this feat by not only building a better product, but by offering “Luxury” features that one would only expect to see in vehicles costing substantially more.

I have studied automobiles with a passion. Ever since I was a youngster I have been fascinated by them, like we as men refer to “Ride” often as our “Second Lady” (Lol Sorry Honey). Personally I have looked at or test driven mostly all of them in this category. At the top of my “to have list” were the following vehicles:

Bentley Bentayga

Lexus GX

Mercedes GLG brutal SUV

As I visited the dealership, I was greeted by John Lyons AKA “The Sales Guy” and after viewing a few Palisades they had in inventory, my eyes settled on a “Steel Graphite” Limited model. OK I will say I was impressed when John came back with the keys and remotely started the vehicle before he approached me back at the car, but what stood out the most was John’s knowledge of the product. As he explained in detail every nuance of the vehicle, I had an Epiphany moment and thought “Why do I have to spend so much money on a Lexus or Mercedes, when I can have this with the same identical features and so much more at a far better price?”

It was a “No Brain-er ”The “Side View Cameras”, and the other thought out planning of the Palisade were the “Icing on the cake”. According to an article on Wikipedia when building the Palisade, Hyundai adopted principles utilizing the following principle:

Based on the Grandmaster concept, Hyundai made many of the latest safety features standard equipment on the Palisade, including Safe Exit Assist (prevents children and pets from accidentally being locked inside of the vehicle by using audio and visual alerts), class-exclusive Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert (senses whether a child or pet is seated in either one of the rear seats, and can also send an alert using the Bluelink in-vehicle telematicssystem to send an alert to the driver’s smartphone to alert the driver to check the rear seats), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Collision-Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (also known as Adaptive Cruise Control), and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.

So as you can tell I am really excited about building and owning my own Palisade and as I stated before and not to take away from your own experience, I won’t give away any more of the movie details or your own “Palisade Moment” I encourage  you to visit your local Hyundai dealership and cop one for yourself!
