Mandia

Over the past couple of years, Ottawa Pop/R&B/Soul sensation Mandia has released a quartet of phenomenally well-crafted, radio-friendly, memorable and danceable songs that point to the genuine rise of a new Canadian musical sensation.

Working in tandem with some of the top writers and producers in the music industry, many of whom clamoured for the chance to collaborate with this gifted 19 year-old Canadian songstress, the singles Never Again, One Last Time, Smile and Rising Up are indicative of the growing proficiency of Mandia as a songwriting force and her inescapable maturity and seasoning as a vocalist and performer.
She is also enthusiastic about using her talents for worthy causes. In the midst of an already jam-packed past year, Mandia was also asked to take part in a special tour entitled Call to Peace in the United States to perform alongside with Jacob Latimore, OMG Girlz and Trevor Jackson. This anti-bullying and antiviolence program features speakers and performers and was directed at teens.

All her hard work, dedication, and criss-crossing not only her home province, but the country and continent to work with the best in the business, have culminated in a collection of songs for Mandia’s first full-length album, entitled “Fractured Fairy Tales”.

The first 3 singles and music videos “One Last Time”, “Rising Up” and “Secret” although target a younger demographic are songs that are emblematic of Mandia’s genre-defying ability to reach a truly wide spectrum of music lovers – much in the same way as her musical heroes Celine Dion, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera have.

The music on “Fractured Fairy Tales was produced by Los Angeles-based multi Grammy award nominated production team 1500 or Nothin’ ( Snoop Dog, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars) Larrance Dopson along with Grammy winning songwriter James Fauntleroy ( Rihanna, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jordan Sparks ), songwriter Alexandria Dopson, Grammy nominated Kuya Productions (JRDN, Shaun Desman, Girlicious, Nelly) singer songwriter team Sammy Blues and Bobby Brass, and most recently with VicPark Production team, Mike Kiofos and multitalented singer songwriter Levi (Neverest, Keshia Chante).

“I co-wrote several of the songs on the album. It was such a great experience to be able to collaborate with these amazing producers and songwriters. They really gave me the chance to learn from them.” says Mandia. “I really appreciate this kind of mentoring because it helps me grow as a songwriter – and song writing is such a big part of an artist’s career in today’s industry. It’s important to me for people know I am not just a voice.” “I am constantly writing new material and I am very excited to share my musical progression with all my fans”.
