Featured Artist: Ströhm
Ströhm (Stroehm) is a German music project from St. Johann on the Swabian Alb and was founded of Tilo Carozzi (Keyboards, Voice, ARTdesign) and Eckhart Landes (Keyboards, Mixing, Cut and Sound) in the year of 2009.
The music of Stroehm is classed with the ‘Experimental Multigenre Improvisation” and combines experimental music (Avantgarde – Ambient-Drone) with free improvisation and creates imaginative sound structures. Novel sounds, rhythmically underlaid, expressive, dynamic, then again impulsive with romantic elements are the musical result of the common interplay.
The music of Stroehm represents the result of an understanding within the band. The music is created out of the moment and is not a rational but an intuitive, emotional and sensual process.
Here the free and improvised playing is in the foreground. In the here and now, themes, motifs and rhythms develop into unique pieces of music. Only inspiration and mutual listening create this music and unique sound. Fantasy and melancholy, dream and transience come together in the moment of energy, inspiration and joy of playing.
Stroehm does not seem static, but is a constantly evolving, independently redefining process, moving away from existing conventions as well as musical concepts
