Charlamagne Tha God Suggests Drake’s 100 GB Leak is a Strategic Move for His Album Release

Charlamagne Tha God Thinks Drake Is Testing Fan Interest

Drake is doing a lot lately. He started a new Instagram account full of memes targeting other rappers and released a massive 100 GB of new and unreleased content. Fans are still sorting through it, but Charlamagne Tha God has his own ideas. On The Breakfast Club, he said Drake’s actions are more planned than they seem. Charlamagne believes this new content is a setup for a future album.

Charlamagne thinks Drake failed to use his strengths by making this drop appear “organic.” He believes everything Drake does is planned. “That’s the issue, right. Drake just doing stuff,” he said. “There’s no direction to it. He’s trying to make it look natural, like it’s nothing, like it’s effortless.” Charlamagne feels Drake is seeing how the public reacts after his bad encounter with Kendrick Lamar. “This is clearly a rollout,” he added. “He’s putting his toe in the water to see how people feel about him.”

Charlamagne has a point. In July, Drake has teased many projects. He has unreleased songs with Conductor Williams, a trio of tracks with Young Thug, Latto, and 21 Savage, and a joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR coming in the fall. There’s also talk of a European tour themed on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss. Among his 100 GB drop, Drake shared merch with the title “No One Likes Us 2024.”

Charlamagne reassured Drake that fans will be supportive. “Drake, you’re fine,” he said. “Today, you are you.” Despite calling Drake the loser of the battle with Kendrick Lamar, Charlamagne thought Drake did well. “This, to me, has been the best rap battle I’ve ever seen,” he stated last May. “Two top artists in their prime. I’ve never seen a rap battle give us so much music.” Only time will tell if Charlamagne’s theory is correct.
