Brooklyn’s indie-rock songwriter LADYCHILD drops “Out of Breath”

February 9, 20181 min read

NEW YORK, NY | February 9, 2018 – Striking forth with a burst of indie-rock energy and fierce spirit, Brooklyn’s LadyChild have made a bold introduction with their debut single “Out of Breath.” Paired with a nostalgically 90’s-esque raw yet flashy video of the band rocking out, LadyChild’s debut will get you geared up and ready to join the party. The video premiered on B-sides & Badlands, who compared LadyChild’s style to that of Janis Joplin, saying, “Ladychild inhabit that same psychedelic freestyle of the ’60s so unapologetically in their music.”

“The song ‘Out of Breath’ is an ode to the 90s grunge and garage band era,” shared leader singer Genevieve Faivre. “I just miss that kickass rawness rock music had during that time. It’s an energy and attitude that I feel is largely missing from popular music today.” Faivre explains the meaning of the song as the struggle of getting your foot in the door – feeling defeated and exhausted, when you’ve only just begun.
