Mustard Criticizes Drake, Labels Him the ‘Malcolm X for White People’

Mustard Criticizes Drake, Calls Him Malcolm X for White People

On Friday, August 2, Mustard took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent his frustrations about Drake. Mustard called Drake the “Malcolm X of White people” during his heated rant.

Also, Mustard hinted that Drake influenced his friend, house producer Gordo, to drop his new album “Diamante” on the same day as Mustard’s own project, “Faith of a Mustard Seed.”

It all began when Mustard posted about his album “Faith of a Mustard Seed” selling 18,000 units in its first week. He was thankful for the sales and captioned the post with “Beyond Grateful” and the hashtag #FOAMS.

Mustard later commented, possibly jokingly, that “Album sales are a form of [White] supremacy.”

A fan replied to this, saying, “It’s only racist when your album flops. If your album did well, you’d be bragging about it.”

Mustard brushed off the fan’s comment and aimed his anger at Drake. He accused Drake of pushing Gordo to release his album on the same day. Drake appears on two songs, “Sideways” and “Healing,” on Gordo’s album “Diamante.”

Mustard wrote, “Drake is the Malcolm X of [White] people [laughing emoji] and [DJ Akademiks], make sure you post
@GordoSZN first-week sales since Drake thought it was smart to drop on the same day as me [laughing emoji].”

He added, “These Drake bots are the Nation of Drizzlam, TRYING TO FADE ME [laughing emoji].”

It seems Mustard was implying that Drake used bots to criticize and overshadow his album.

In the past, fans have accused Kendrick Lamar of using bots to hate on Drake.

Meanwhile, in a Zoom interview with XXL, Mustard talked about producing Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us,” aimed at Drake. Mustard said he didn’t know it was a diss track until it came out. Kendrick picked the beat from a selection Mustard sent him.

“I feel like I’m living in a dream,” Mustard told XXL. “I’ve had big records, but not like this. It’s an indescribable feeling.”
